Bake Off viewers shocked as Prue Leith reveals she’s 80 years old

GREAT British Bake Off fans were left stunned when judge Prue Leith casually dropped the revelation she is 80-years-old during Tuesday night’s show.
The British-South African writer has gained a huge following since replacing ex-queen of the tent Mary Berry when the show moved to Channel 4 in 2016.
And now she has people clamouring for her secret to stay young as she nonchalantly revealed she is older than many fans had suspected.
She dropped the bombshell while chatting to hosts Noel Fielding and Matt Lucas about gloopy 17th century dessert Sussex Pond pudding, which proved too tricky for many of the remaining bakers in the technical challenge.
Stunned viewers shared their shock on Twitter with many admitting they had immediately Googled the judge to check it was true.
One said: “I am soo surprised that Prue Leith is 80 - she looks so fantastic.
“If this is where years of eating/drinking food, cakes and wine get you, then I am clearly doing everything required to maintain youthful, glamourous looks!”
Another added: “SHUT THE FRONT DOOR just said she is 80 years old.
“Style, strong straight tall demeanour, stonking great career... What an absolute *queen.”
And one said: “Watching Bake Off on catch up and was totally gobsmacked to hear say she is 80 years old!
“Amazing & looking good on it! But....erm.....does that mean Mary Berry is 502?”
Another referred to the US presidential election as they cheekily added: “Prue Leith is 80. Wow. Less concerned about Biden being 77 now. .”
Some, including BBC Sports presenter Manish Bhasin, admitted they rushed to check Paul Hollywood’s age too.
His 54 years means there is a 26-year age gap between the two tent judges.
