McFly’s Tom Fletcher gets surprise 30th birthday party from wife Giovanna…almost a year late
Singer had to cancel his 30th celebrations last year due to illness
TOM Fletcher got the surprise of his life on Sunday when wife Giovanna threw him a Christmas-themed 30th birthday party, just days before he turns 31.
The McFly singer was forced to cancel his milestone celebrations last year due to illness, but loving wife Giovanna, 31, made sure her husband got to celebrate it eventually.
Posting a picture of two sets of cutlery encased in festive stockings on his Instagram page, Tom wrote: "So @mrsgifletcher has thrown me a surprise birthday meal! Guess the theme..."
Soon after, the star explained more about why his other half had thrown him a 30th birthday party so close to him turning 31.
He said: "Last year I was sick and had to cancel my 30th bday plans so my wonderful wife @mrsgifletcher threw me surprise 30th today before I turn 31 in a couple of weeks.
"Total surprise!"

Tom wrote alongside a picture of his beaming wife, who wore a pair of festive boppers on her head.
McFly bandmate Dougie Poynter could be seen in the background as friends and family sat close by enjoying the day.
Topping off the celebrations, Tom received a special cake, decorated with snowflakes and a Christmas tree with the words: "Tom you are still 30!
"Happy Birthday! xxx"
He captioned the picture: "Here's my surprise "Still 30" bday cake! Peanut butter & chocolate...ridiculously good! Made by @julietsear, thanks!"
Tom has always been a big fan of Christmas, especially since the couple welcomed their two son's Buzz and Buddy, and earlier this year, he announced plans to release a children's book based around the festive period.
Posting a funny video to his Youtube channel titled Live From the Delivery Room, Tom made out he was unable to attend a scheduled book launch for The Christmasaurus because a heavily pregnant Giovanna had gone into labour.
He said: "It's story about a boy called William Trundle and a dinosaur the Christmasaurus, and how they meet one Christmas Eve and have a magical adventure.
"It's about families and friendships, Santa and sleigh-bells, singing elves and flying reindeer, music and magic, and it's about finding your heart's true desire."
