‘I never had one as I was getting divorced’: Carol Vorderman plans on having a 40th birthday party… at age 55
The TV personality says she's "a bit of a party animal"

CAROL Vorderman has decided to have her 40th birthday bash aged 55 because she missed her chance the first time around.
The former Countdown presenter says she loves to party and was disappointed she didn't celebrate her 40th because she was splitting from her husband Patrick King at the time.
She told Woman magazine: "I had the best 50th party ever, everyone said so.
"I can't tell you most of what happened! I had an Abba tribute band and a 70s theme, it was round the swimming pool and everybody came: the Red Arrows, Alan Carr, Gok Wan, astronaut buddies, about 400 people were there.
"So I'm going to have my 40th party soon because I never had one!
"I was going through a divorce at the time so I think it's time. I'm a bit of a party animal!"
As she embraces an active social life, Carol admits she adores being single after a brief reunion with her ex-boyfriend Graham Duff.
She said: "I am strictly single. I briefly got back with Duffy and then I ended it quickly afterwards.
"I'm enjoying my life very much. My children roll their eyes and laugh. 'What's she up to this time?'
"But I don't want to settle down. I don't want to be eating popcorn in front of the telly every night."
Carol has been married twice, firstly to Christopher Mather from 1985 to 86 and then to Patrick King, who she has daughter Katie and son Cameron with.
However, she wouldn't rule out tying the knot again in the future if she met the right person.

"A lot of single men over 50 want to get married again but only a small percentage of women do. You get to our age and think, 'You're not all that, I'm happy as I am'."
Meanwhile, Carol - who is the face of a website for over-50s called Victoria.co.uk - is set to have a busy summer as she plans to fly solo around the world.
She said: "My biggest indulgence is my aeroplane. I'm flying around the world in it this month and it's going to be made into a TV series.
"I'll clench my buttocks for two months and try to remember everything I've been taught and not to panic.
"I'm making light of it but it's actually a huge challenge.
"I always wanted to be a pilot so it's about my childhood dreams.
"I'm so lucky because I'm having the time of my life!"
