HILARY Duff has taken fashion inspiration from Cheryl Fernandez Versini as she wore the same striped tracksuit i New York this week.
Cheryl wore the unusual ensemble that features orange and white stripes across the midsection and down the legs when she went out for her birthday dinner with boyfriend Liam Payne.
Hilary paired the suit with pointed platform baby blue heels and a crossbody cream handbag as she strutted along the promenade while filming the third series of her TV show, Younger.
The 28-year-old plays book editor Kelsey in the show which sees Liza Miller's character Sutton, who is a single mother, return to work at 40 but pretending to be a 26-year-old.
Hilary was later seen changing out of her blue heels in favour of some more comfortable pink flip flops and shielded her face from the sun with some over-sized retro shades.
The former Lizzie McGuire star wore her blonde locks in loose waves and sported some lip enhancing nude lipstick for the shoot.
The TV show has received rave reviews and was written by Sex and the City creator Darren Star.
While Cheryl wore the Stella McCartney suit with the shirt hanging out, Hilary tucked it in to accentuate her waist and give a more polished look.
While there were reports that Liam, 22, was set to propose on her birthday, he instead made a sizeable donation to her charity, Cheryl's Trust, instead.
The couple have been dating since late last year after she split from her husband Jean Bernard Fernandez Versini.
Meanwhile, Cheryl is believed to be focusing on recording new music after she decided not to return to the judging panel of the X Factor this year.
At the time, she said she was "excited to be recording again" and hitmaker Craig David has even sent her some tracks for her upcoming fifth album.
