‘The Love Island lie detector wasn’t accurate’: Olivia Buckland excuses Alex Bowen’s awkward telly fail
The pair deny that Alex was telling porkies about his feelings for Olivia

THEIR tans might be fading but things between Love Island’s Alex Bowen and Olivia Buckland are hotting up, so much so that Olivia is willing to put THAT failed lie detector test behind her, claiming “I don’t want to trust a piece of machinery, I want to trust a person.”
Olivia was left sobbing when the tests results showed that Alex had been lying about many key things, including whether his feelings towards her were real, whether he could be trusted, and if he saw a future with her, but they both now say the machine was inaccurate.
Speaking to Reveal, Olivia said: “I’m not sure how truthful that was, or how much it actually worked.
“We’ve since been told that it wasn’t accurate, but at the time we didn’t know that.
“It felt real, so it was difficult to handle at the time."

When asked whether or not it was a real lie detector test, Alex responded: "It was, but apparently the results weren’t 100 per cent accurate, though we weren’t told that on the show.
“You’ve seen my reaction and how gutted I was.
“One of the questions was, ‘Can you see a future together?’ a machine can’t predict the future, or someone’s feelings.”
Olivia added: “It was such a stressful day anyway.
“We were the last couple to take the test, we were already aggravated, and it monitors your stress levels and sweat glands.
“I don’t want to trust a piece of machinery, I want to trust a person.”
