James Argent ‘wants to lose a stone a month’ until 2022 through training sessions with pal Ferne McCann

JAMES Argent has a secret weapon in the battle against the bulge - fitness fanatic pal Ferne McCann.
The pair have been training together with James, 33, showing off his new slimmed-down look in a swimming session.
Former Towie star Arg - who is determined to lose a stone every month until 2022 - posted pictures enjoying a dip with his former TOWIE co-star, 30, on Instagram.
A pal said: “Ferne and James are really good friends. She’s been a huge support to him.”
Last week we exclusively revealed how reformed Arg is aiming to lose at least SIX stone by Christmas.
He has already lost four stone following his gastric band op, which docs said he needed after he ballooned to 27 stone in lockdown.
Now he has set a target of getting under 20 stone by the end of the year.
“James wants to lose at least a stone every month between now and 2022,” a pal said .
“It’s a lot but he’s determined to do it because he is feeling so much healthier following his operation.
Arg shocked fans when he ballooned to nearly 27st during lockdown, admitting he swapped a drink and drug addiction for junk food when Covid closed gyms and pools.
Revealing the impact the gastric sleeve has had on his life already, he said this week: "I’m four stone lighter now. It’s a really good start. Four stone out of 11 or 12 might seem like a drop in the ocean but I’m pleased I’ve made progress already.
"I feel so much happier already, I feel healthier already, I’m lighter on my toes, I’m more confident. I’m really loving life at the moment."
Detailing how he felt prior to the surgery, he told Steph’s Packed Lunch: "It felt horrible, I was always extremely uncomfortable, I couldn’t look at myself in the mirror.
"It felt depressing and it just wasn’t me. Now I’m starting to feel like myself again and I’m excited about what the future is going to bring.
“It was scary being 27 stone… It was serious, doctors were telling me how dangerous it was… I knew it was something I had to address pretty quickly."
