Professor Green celebrates signing deal with Sony – and new album is on its way
Rapper's comeback album is FINALLY on the way and fans can't wait to hear his revelations about their divorce

PROFESSOR GREEN has been biting his lip since his divorce from MILLIE MACKINTOSH earlier this year — but perhaps not for much longer.
Pro’s break-up album is finally on the way as I can reveal the rapper has signed a brand new record deal with Sony.
The Brit star — real name STEPHEN MANDERSON — has spent the past two years away from the music business, throwing himself into TV work amid his personal trouble with Millie.
His absence led to a bidding war between a string of labels, all desperate to release his first post-marriage record.
He eventually settled on Sony label Relentless Records, a move which will see him reunited with the man who originally signed him at Virgin back in 2010, Shabs Jobanputra.
Pro could not be more excited about getting back into the swing of things, and told me: “Shabs was first out of the blocks for a second time round — it’s great to be back in the hands of someone fair, forward-thinking and committed.”
A heck of a lot has happened in the rapper’s life since his last major release, 2014’s Growing Up In Public.
My sister column Biz on Sunday broke the news of his separation from Millie in February, which came after just two-and-a-half years of marriage.
The former Made In Chelsea star quickly moved on, rekindling her romance with ex-boyfriend and show co-star HUGO TAYLOR, while Pro has recently grown close to both RITA ORA and CAROLINE FLACK.
Knowing Pro, he will be keen to set the record straight on his new album.
And last month, when asked if Millie would be unhappy to hear his new lyrics, he admitted: “I think that can be assumed. But I’m not worried. People assume they know me and they know the box I fit into but I grew up rapping a totally different way.”
Yesterday a source close to the star said of his new deal: “Sony and Relentless are chuffed to have signed Professor Green.
“There was a real battle for his signature but he and Shabs have a lot of history, and that really helped.
“As far as Professor Green is concerned, he feels — considering everything that’s gone on for him recently — that this is a hugely exciting, fresh start.
“He’s really pleased with how his music is sounding, and now just wants to get back to focusing on that.”
And unlike Millie, I cannot wait to hear it . . .
