8 unlikely friendships formed in the Celebrity Big Brother house – including Denise Welch and Frankie Cocozza, and Jedward and Tara Reid
The Elstree compound has always proven to cement a series of unlikely friendships in the most bizarre and beautiful ways

WHEN it comes to Celebrity Big Brother, we've come to expect the unexpected.
But among the most strangest happenings are the unlikely friendships that have sprung up between seemingly chalk and cheese housemates. Here are some of the best...
Denise Welch and Frankie Cocozza
Frankie and Denise formed an unlikely bond on the showBack in 2012, actress and former Loose Women panellist Denise Welch, 58, became bosom buddies - literally - with X Factor's Frankie Cocozza, 23.
Paddy Doherty and Sally Bercow
Another unlikely pairing was that of Big Fat Gypsy Wedding star Paddy Doherty and Sally Bercow, wife of the current Speaker of the House of Commons, John Bercow.
The duo met in the 2011 series, which Paddy won, and the got on like a house on fire - so much so, Sally later moved into the Irish traveller's caravan afterwards for a Channel Five reality show.
Paddy has also been given a tour of the House of Commons by Sally.
Proving opposites do attract, Paddy confessed he would turn Sally into his “woman” if they were both single as he'd fallen in love with her "posh accent".
Jim Davidson and Dappy Contostavlos
Jim admitted his stint in the CBB house in 2014 made him "really depressed" - but he was "saved" by his friendship with N-Dubz rapper Dappy.
The comedian, 62, who won the 13th series of the reality show, admitted he would have quit the show if he hadn't become such good pals with the 29-year-old singer.
He said: "I did think, 'What am I doing here with all these bloody people?' If it wasn't for Dappy I would've climbed over the wall. I loved him Dappy, great guy."
And their unlikely friendship has lasted - Jim has since met up with the rapper several times and has even been invited onto the stage with him at his gigs.
Jim joked: "I'm on standby for all his court appearances and all his gigs."
Katie Price and Keith Chegwin
While Cheggers regularly locked horns with Katie Hopkins during CBB 2015, he found himself becoming bezzie mates with the other Katie in the house - Katie Price.
On leaving the house as the winner, the mum-of-five declared the pair would stay friends, adding: "Who on earth in the world would ever think we have so much in common from reading Country Life magazine to horses and things we generally do?"
And they were true to their word - Keith even showed up at Katie's wedding vow renewal ceremony after she won the show.
Jonathan Cheban and Gemma Collins
Who'd have thought Kim Kardashian's bae would strike up such a close bond with Only Way is Essex lass Gemma?
Poor Gemma was distraught when Jonathan decided to leave the show after just one week earlier this year - and was even ordered by her new pal to "get it together!".
As she wailed he told her: "Now you have another bed. You can fart, you can snore, you can wear pink all day tomorrow in remembrance of me!"
The pair have since proved their bond is for keeps, enjoying luxury shopping trips together and meeting up in Cannes to mingle with the Kardashian clan.
Rylan Clark-Neal and Neil 'Razor' Ruddock
Who'd have thought the "hardest footballer of all time" would form such a strong bond to self-confessed "wimp" Rylan?
The TV presenter, 27, became firm friends with Neil, 48, in 2013 and even went skinny-dipping together.
On emerging from the house, Neil said: "I think the connection I had with Rylan… that will be forever. A proper friendship.
"I think I’ll let Rylan take my missus out and go shopping like a pair of girls."
True to his word, when he married girlfriend Leah Newham in 2013, Rylan was invited to be the ringbearer on the big day. Sweet!
Jedward and Tara Reid
Yup, we didn't see this coming either.
The Irish singing duo befriended the American Pie actress during the 2011 series and spent most their time straightening her hair and consoling her when she broke down.
Since then, the trio have been snapped hanging out on holiday, at premieres and even made a music video together, with Tara going so far as to say the twins have "changed her life".
They have all since starred in Sharknado 3 together and have met each other's families.
Jedward revealed they were desperate for Tara to get pregnant so they could be godfathers.
Rula Lenska and George Galloway
Everyone remembers THAT scene back in 2006 where the former MP pretended to lick invisible cream from the actress's hands while purring like a kitten.
It was the stuff of nightmares.
Reflecting on the moment in 2013, Rula said: "You don’t think anything of it at the time.
"It was only when I went out of the house and spoke to Davina that I realised people had picked up on it.
"I still don’t understand it – it was such a brief moment but I suppose it was funny."
Doesn't sound like they've stayed in touch...
