Matt Damon wears bizarre ‘man bun’ at premiere of Jason Bourne film in China

MATT Damon has surprised fans in China by bringing his 'man bun' back.

The 45-year-old first ditched his usual short hair for long locks during a press conference in Beijing last year.

And on Tuesday evening, Matt embraced a longer mane of hair once again as he attended a photo call for his latest movie, Jason Bourne.

Posing alongside co-star Alicia Vikander, Matt was all smiles as he sported a 'man bun', made famous by the likes of Jared Leto and Harry Styles.

Looking casual but smart in a black shirt rolled up at the sleeves and matching trousers, Matt took questions from the Chinese media about his return to the popular movie franchise.

Later in the day, Matt switched things up and wore a stylish suit and tie to a screening of the film, which sees him return to the titular role after a nine-year absence.

Matt confessed the long mane was a key part of his character, and the reappearance of his extensions hint that some additional shooting is being done for the movie while the star is back in the country.

Speaking to chat show host Graham Norton later in the year, Matt said: "I did a movie in China and I was there for about five months with that thing, and then we did a press conference at the very end.

"There are 700 hair extensions, it was a full day to put them in... and then I had to manage it.

"I have a whole new appreciation for my wife and daughters — it’s very hard to do."
