Tongue Tied

This Morning’s Eamonn Holmes and Ruth Langsford talk snogging and ‘tongue action’ with Emmerdale’s Emma Atkins

The married presenting duo lifted the lid on their lip-locking techniques with Charity Dingle star

EMMERDALE actress Emma Atkins was left lost for words on This Morning when she became the unwitting kissing expert for married couple Eamonn Holmes and Ruth Langsford.

Emma, who plays troublesome Charity Dingle on the show, was being interviewed about the dramatic love triangle storyline she is currently caught up in on the rural soap opera.

She then revealed that she was prepared for her love scenes with Cain Dingle, played by Jeff Hordley, because she was taught 'TV kissing' in her training to become an actress at university.

She said: "They taught you to kiss and I was thinking 'this is weird!'

"I remember thinking 'who's getting off on this? This is just bizarre!'"

Cheeky Eamonn then rewound the conversation and asked her to explain TV kissing in further detail.

Emma replied: "It's all about placement and it's all very technical"

Ruth then asked: "Tongues? Or no tongues?"

She later pulled her hubby in for an awkward kiss for the cameras, much to his bemusement.

The 56-year-old couple have had a successful 20 year relationship, six-year marriage and have had one son together, 14-year-old Jack.

During their time as presenters on This Morning, they haven't been shy in admitting what makes their marriage tick - from their arguments to sexual revelations.

Eamonn recently said that their marriage was just as strong as ever and revealed: “Humour has also kept me married. If I can make Ruth laugh then I’m out of jail. I get to work with the person I love.”

“I’m an outrageous flirt but we’re safe as houses. We could not be happier, or more secure, in our marriage.”

He added:"Neither of us wears the trousers - in fact I like it when Ruth doesn't wear any trousers at all."

"But whatever happens, Ruth and I will be growing old together. I tell her, ‘Ruth, no one will ever love you as much as I do’."
