LIZZY Cundy has been branded a ‘freeloader’ after revealing she always expects a man to pay on a first date.

The 48-year-old, who split from footballer Jason Cundy four years ago, managed to cause a stir as she revealed she is back on the dating scene during an appearance on This Morning.

Speaking to Eamonn Holmes and Ruth Langsford, the former WAG said: “If he's asked you on a date and hes a gentleman he should pay! I like a man to chase the girl.

“They should be honoured to have you there, it's embarrassing if a guy is [examining] the bill.”

The topic was being addressed after a woman refused to split the bill during a recent episode of First Dates.

Ruth was a little taken aback by the comments, telling her: “If I was dating now - I wont be because I'm with Eamonn forever - I would split the bill.”

Lizzie was then quizzed about whether she wanted equality for women, to which she replied: “It's very different [comparing] dating and women in the workplace, every woman wants to be treated.

Eammon couldn’t resist being a little cheeky, asking her: “Do you ever feel any pressure to repay the bill with a tip?”

Despite the suggestive comment, Lizzie responded teasingly: “I'm very good at tipping actually!”

Those watching at home couldn’t quite believe what they were hearing and took to Twitter to disagree with her point of view.

One person remarked: “Please stop acting as if it's your God given right to have the bill paid for because you have a vagina.”

Another rather angry person tweeted: "Lizzy Cundy theres one f***ing freeloader #ThisMorning"

While a further person cruelly remarked: “Greedy old tart #thismorning.”

Others did agree with her though and tweeted her support. One wrote: “I agree with you, if a man asks you out he should pay most definitely for the 1st date!”

“With @lizziecundy on this! Men should pay if they request your company for a first date!” tweeted another.
