Last year, YouTuber LadBaby bagged the 2020 Christmas No1 slot with his song Don't Stop Me Eatin', a take on Journey's rock anthem Don't Stop Believin'.

The star - real name Mark Hoyle - hoped to bag the title for a FOURTH time alongisde his wife Roxanne Hoyle and their two young sons.

Elton John and Ed Sheeran also released their own Christmas track - Merry Christmas Everyone - which they had high hopes would reach the top spot.

Just in case, the singing sensations also featured on LadBaby track Sausage Rolls For Everyone, a take on their new song - giving them two chances at the title.

According to , Ed Sheeran apparently reached out to LadBaby with a plan for a Christmas collaboration in hopes of breaking the chart together.

Meanwhile, The Kunts - who last year shocked Brits with Boris Johnson Is A F***** C*** - were hoping to seal the deal with Boris Johnson Is STILL A F***** C***.

Elsewhere, Adele also released her highly-anticipated album 30 - with songs Easy On Me, I Drink Wine and Oh My God staying high in the charts since its release.

The album hit No.1 on the global charts just a matter of days after it hit streaming services in October after fans waited two years for the album due to Covid delays.

Other artists in with a shot were George Ezra, with his new single Come On Home For Christmas, a reworked version of the 1960s hit by Charles Brown.

While classics including Mariah Carey's All I Want For Christmas Is You, Wham's Last Christmas and Michael Buble's It's Begginging To Look A Lot Like Christmas all made the list.

The Christmas No.1 has been running for more than SEVEN decades - and the competition still rages on as fiercely as ever.

Al Martino was the first to claim the honour in 1952 with Here In My Heart – and since then a procession of A-list names have joined the club.

The Beatles boasted four throughout the Sixties, while Paul McCartney regained the crown in 1977 with Wings’ Mull Of Kintyre.

More recently, The Spice Girls, Michael Jackson, Robbie Williams and Whitney Houston have beaten the festive competition.

A spate of novelty acts saw Mr Blobby take top spot in 1993 and later Bob The Builder, before X Factor’s TV domination saw Leona Lewis, Shayne Ward, Alexandra Burke, Matt Cardle, Sam Bailey, Leon Jackson and Ben Haenow triumph.

A public campaign saw Rage Against The Machine break that run in 2009 – and similar campaigns saw novelty act LadBaby nab three in a row.
