Strictly’s Ed Balls injured after being ‘smashed in the face’ by glass door
The ex MP has been left with a cut to his head

STRICTLY Come Dancing's Ed Balls has become the latest injury-stricken contestant SMASHING his face on a glass door.
The former politician has been left with a cut to his head after faceplanting a see-through entrance.
Licking his wounds, he said he looked like he's been "in a boxing ring" yet seemed to have recovered enough to embrace the banter about his embarrassing mishap, which happened earlier today.
In a chat with BBC Radio 5, he explained: "I was just coming out of the Guardian, I did a podcast, and there was this glass door that suddenly opened very quickly and smashed me in the face.
"I've got a slight cut on my forehead.
"It was a door - it wasn't an opponent, it wasn't one of my celebrity contestants in Strictly, it was a glass door which assaulted me."
After the radio host quizzed him as to whether his reflexes needed to be worked on ahead of his stint on the dance floor, he quipped: "I wasn't looking in the right direction.
"I think my problem is hip movement and rhythm and general dancing but I don't think avoiding glass doors."
On his Facebook post, which showed an image of his injury, he added: "I just got smacked in the face by an automatic glass door leaving the Guardian newspaper office!
"I'm now on 5 live and I look like I've done a few rounds in a boxing ring... What I need right now is one of the brilliant Strictly make-up artists to do a bit of cover-up!
He then giggled about his unfortunate incident.
Later, he took to Twitter to let his followers know of the niggle and wrote: "Bashed my face this lunchtime at the Guardian."
He isn't the first Strictly contestant to have been crocked in the preparations for the BBC show.
On Saturday, singer Will Young exclusively told us he had hurt his ankle after slipping on some stairs when he'd taken a fag break from rehearsals.

Meanwhile ex Shadow Chancellor Ed, 49, said he had the grace of a "slug" following his Strictly debut.
We exclusively revealed the former MP admitted it was “pretty traumatic” watching back the replays of Saturday night’s launch show.
Ed said: “I mean look, maybe I will emerge from my chrysalis. But – or it may turn out that I was a slug all along.”
Strictly’s producers also warned him to keep his mouth shut – after singing along during his first dance.
Ed stomped around the dancefloor mistiming several moves in the contestant’s first group sequence.
Bosses and choreographers later gave him a ticking off after he was seen mouthing the lyrics to Ray Charles’ Shake Your Tail Feather from classic movie Blues Brothers throughout the routine.
