Jamie Dornan rules out return to Fifty Shades series as erotic hunk Christian Grey… despite potential for fourth film

Irish actor says he will not star in the fourth movie 'Grey'

JAMIE Dornan has ruled out a return to Fifty Shades of Grey — despite the potential for a fourth film.

The Irish actor, 34, has completed filming on the second and third flicks of EL James’ erotic book series, Fifty Shades Darker and Fifty Shades Freed.

But he will not reprise his role as Christian Grey if her fourth novel, Grey — all about his character — is taken to the big screen.

He said: “We have done two movies back to back now, and I’m actually finished with it. I’ve done Fifty Shades forever.

“I move on very fast in my mind. As much as from the outside people think you are synonymous with one character, but I’m very much like, ‘Right, that’s done’ and move on to the next project and worry about that character.”

The original Fifty Shades of Grey film, which made £424million worldwide last year, was plagued by a feud between writer EL James, real name Erika Mitchell, and director Sam Taylor Johnson, who eventually quit the franchise.

Speaking about their spat for the first time, Dornan stuck up for the novelist, who has since taken on Sam’s role as director.

He said: “There are pressures involved with everyone making a movie of this scale. Not just Sam and Erika, everyone is feeling the pressure.

“Everyone is trying to complete their role as best they can. For Erika these are her babies, these mean more than her to anyone else.

“There is pressure making these movies. Sometimes you need a bit of angst and pressure to make things happen.”
