Coronation Street reveals ‘cryptic clue’ that Jim McDonald is about to break out of jail
It looks like Jim McDonald could be set for an explosive return to the cobbles

CORONATION Street actor Charlie Lawson has hinted that Jim McDonald is set for an explosive return to the cobbles after breaking out of prison.
Charlie, who has played the dodgy Irishman in a reoccurring role since 1989, reached out to his on-screen son Steve, played by Simon Gregson, after one Corrie-loving nerd pointed out what appeared to be a cryptic clue.
The bizarre theory was started by an eagle-eyed viewer who noticed the word ‘TAIG’ tagged on a wall behind Steve McDonald in graffiti during the episode on Monday September 5th.
Taig, a derogatory term for a Catholic or Irish nationalist, is also the brand name of a smartphone Jailbreak app that originated in China.
Talking about the unusual clue, Charlie urged his on-screen son to give him a call on Twitter for further information.

After the picture revealing the clue was first posted online, Charlie tagged Simon in a post and wrote: “Interesting.”
Unsure what he was alluding to, Simon responded: “What’s interesting?”
As he then explained the graffiti, Simon said: “You frighten me,” after Charlie urged him to pick up the phone for a detailed explanation.
Charlie was last seen on the soap in a storyline that featured Jim behind bars alongside fellow inmate Peter Barlow in 2014.
While illegally selling alcohol to other prisoners, former flame Liz McDonald visited him in the hopes he’d leave recovering alcohol Peter out of his dodgy dealings.
As his family then turned their back on him after he attempted to blackmail his ex into visiting, it’s believed his release date isn’t until 2018.
A rep for Coronation Street tells us: "No he is not returning - he is involved (but absent) in a storyline coming up and referenced a lot, Steve goes to visit him in prison but we don't see it. I imagine that is what they were tweeting about."
