Love Island’s Adam Maxted sparks outrage with diet-shaming McDonald’s picture
The now deleted post has been shared over 25,000 times from outraged social media users

LOVE Island star Adam Maxted has been blasted online after an unfortunate “joke” massively backfired and went viral on Saturday.
The muscle-clad reality star, who starred on the ITV2 dating show earlier this summer, shared a picture mocking diners in a chain of McDonald’s while shamelessly promoting a fitness supplement.
In the selfie, Adam is seen sat at an empty table amongst diners while holding up a protein shake.
He captioned the pic: “Sometimes I like going into McDonalds to sit and have my protein shake…
“Just to make everyone there feel better about their diet.”
The image has since been shared by Twitter users, including Gaz Beadle, after an unimpressed follower called the star out.
Alongside a screenshot of his now deleted post, tweeter Kayleigh wrote: “What a w****r I'd lob a nugget at him.”

Defending the joke, which continues to circulate online, Adam has since spoke out against the post.
He tweeted on Sunday: “I Didn't know I was this good at winding people up.. Get me on impractical jokers #canttakeajoke.”
Slamming the post, one social media user wrote: “the worst bit of this is that guy walked into a mcdonalds and said "can u take a pic of me w/ my protein shake"
Another user added: “What a d*** sitting in a handicap spot.”
