LAST night’s Emmy Awards were filled with glitz, glam and pouts aplenty with some of TV’s most fabulous gracing the ceremony, including Sofia Vergara, Emilia Clarke, Kerry Washington and Kit Harrington.

But what really goes on at these star-studded awards, is it all champagne, caviar and air kissing? Well if the celebrities’ Instagram accounts are anything to go by then no – there were a lot of juice cartons and sandwiches…

Host Jimmy Kimmel’s mum made piles of peanut butter and jelly sandwiches for the A-list guests, and Sofia Vergara took a sneaky selfie of herself and her Modern Family co-stars Jesse Ferguson and Eric Stonestreet tucking into theirs.

Also a fan of the sarnies was Minnie Driver who uploaded not only a sandwich selfie which included herself taking a chomp while David Schwimmer enjoyed an apple, she also celebrated backstage next to a huge pile of bread.

Scandal’s Kerry Washington went on a selfie spree, first of all thrilling fans with a picture captioned “Just a couple of Disney princesses in the Green Room”, as she posed next to Kristen Bell.

She then went for a slightly less glam image as she took a snap with her Scandal co-star Tony Goldwyn who stuck his finger up her nose.

Later the pregnant actress bumped into Game of Thrones heartthrob Kit Harrington and informed her followers: “YO! He’s ALIVE!!!!!”

There was another starstruck celeb in the form of Amy Schumer who took a selfie with her boyfriend Ben Hanisch as an excuse to take a sneaky picture of Lawrence Fishburne, captioning the image: “I love the man in this photo and Ben too #lawrencefishburneforlife”

Jimmy Kimmel’s mum wasn’t just making sandwiches for everyone, she was also sending messages of support, as Emilia Clarke held up a message on a napkin from Joan Lacono that read: “Have fun tonight! Win or lose, your mom will always love you. Don’t get drunk. Xoxoxo Joan (Jimmy’s mom)
