Rylan Clark gets in trouble with Eurovision bosses after taking out UK act on the lash the night before show

RYLAN CLARK can’t wait to return to his spiritual home – the Eurovision Song Contest.
And after two years away you’d think he would be on his best behaviour for the song contest in Italy next Saturday.
But Rylan’s admitted he always ends up in hot water for getting our acts drunk.
In an exclusive chat at the Arias in London’s Adelphi Theatre, Rylan revealed the UK’s hopeful Sam Ryder needed to prepare for a big one.
Rylan, who was hosting the ceremony — which celebrates the biggest and best talent in radio — said: “It is tradition that I always take the British act out, normally on the Wednesday or the Thursday, and then the head of delegation always has a go at me because I take them out.
“But I will make sure Sam is all right by Saturday night.”

Rylan will be hosting the semi-final coverage on the BBC in Turin with Radio1 DJ Scott Mills on Tuesday and Thursday, before Graham Norton takes the reins on Saturday.
Rylan was forced to pull out of last year’s show in Rotterdam because of illness and the 2020 event was cancelled because of the pandemic.
Rylan added: “Me and Scott are going to be doing the semis, which I cannot wait for. Who doesn’t love a semi?
“We will make it so good because we’ve not been there in person in two years. We’ve got a lot of making up to do since Tel Aviv (in 2019).

“I cannot wait to have a fantastic time and see what all of the countries have to offer.”
Last year’s UK entrant James Newman ended up with “nul points”, which was won by Italian rockers Maneskin.
But Rylan has higher hopes for Sam, adding: “I know full well we will be on the left-hand side of the leaderboard this year.
“How high up, I don’t know, but I’ve every faith in Sam.”
I’ll second that, Rylan.
Spectacular Sam’s a light entertainer
THE UK’s Eurovision hopeful Sam Ryder will wow viewers when he takes to the stage, as he will be accompanied by the largest prop of any of the countries.
He will perform his song Space Man on a circular plinth, surrounded by three metal wings which will open and light up as he sings.
Sam, who flew to Eurovision host country Italy this week, gave a glimpse of the spectacular staging during his rehearsal in Turin on Thursday.
He wore a skydiving-style jumpsuit for the run-through, although it is not clear if he will wear the same outfit for the main event at the Pala Olimpico arena next Saturday
The belting track is on course to land us in the top five for the first time in 13 years – and could even beat Jade Ewen who came fifth in 2009 with It’s My Time.
We have done abysmally for the past decade but Sam is now fourth favourite to win the entire contest, which is an incredible turnaround.
Whether you are a sceptic or not, it will be one hell of a show.

Chanel's tunnel vision
SPAIN’s entry Chanel has gone to extreme lengths in her bid for glory by running on a treadmill . . . in high heels.
Her song SloMo is one of the bookies favourites and Chanel said: “I was working on musicals for a long time and as musical artists we know how to sing and dance at the same time.
“But this is harder as the dance is so hard and fast and I have to sing by myself.
“I’ve been on the treadmill in heels. It’s hard – but it’s not impossible.”
All Chanel’s hard work seems to have paid off after her dazzling routine during a run through of her song in Turin yesterday.
Fans love Taylor update
SHE has been keeping a low profile for months, but Taylor Swift's fans now finally have reason to celebrate.
The superstar has released her new Taylor’s Version of 1989 album track This Love.
Gushing over the new release, she wrote on Instagram: “I’m currently reliving the 1989 tour in my head and spiralling, it’s fine.” The 2015 tour cemented her as one of the biggest stars on the planet and featured countless special appearances from A-list pals.
Everyone from Ed Sheeran to Cara Delevingne and Kendall Jenner popped up at one of the shows.
I can only assume Taylor is saving my invite for her next UK show.
I'm game for new workout
DESPITE my many attempts, I’ve never been one for the gym.
But finally I’ve found a workout I can get on board with – even if it is only to improve my gaming ability rather than my abs.
Fitness guru Obi Vincent has teamed up with Excel ESports and EE Full Fibre to launch the UK’s first Gaming Intensity Fitness Training.
Instead of gruelling burpees and sit-ups, the plan features more manageable workouts including The Finger Flexer and Gaming Grips, tailor-made for couch potatoes.
After a couple of sessions I’m sure I’ll have beaten my top score in no time.
Daddy James Bay-by talk
JAMES BAY has revealed being a dad hasn’t been a bed of roses, admitting his life has been a “rollercoaster ride” since his daughter’s birth.
The Hold Back The River singer and his childhood sweetheart Lucy Smith had Ada Violet last October.
On his Give Me The Reason tour gig at the O2 Forum Kentish Town in north London on Wednesday, he said: “It is a rollercoaster ride. I am nearly seven months in and I am still standing, which feels odd.
“You will know exactly what I mean when I say that my baby is the most beautiful baby in the world, I promise you, I guarantee it.”
James went on to credit his girlfriend of 14 years for opening up “new avenues of writing” to him, adding: “I went to this new place and I felt all vulnerable.
“I was saying, ‘thank you’, I was saying, ‘I need you’, I was saying, ‘I love you’.”
New sounds of Kasabian
IT’S been five long years since Kasabian graced us with an album.
But I’m happy to report they are back with their seventh record, The Alchemist’s Euphoria.
Teasing the album – their first without Tom Meighan – the rockers said: “It has a big, epic sound but with a personal touch as well.

"There are some softer edges alongside the massive parts.
"As a whole, it’s a beautiful thing and the most cohesive record we’ve ever made. It’s an emotional trip.”
