‘David is there to kill Macca’ Coronation Street’s Jack P Shepheard says the widower wants revenge for Kylie’s death

He may have agreed to grief counselling, but David has no intention of letting go of his bid to avenge Kylie’s death.
“David goes to the therapist but he does not say a word – all he wants to do is scour Macca’s social-media page,” reveals Jack P Shepherd, who plays the angry widower.
“Clayton is awaiting trial and David cannot get to him to carry out his revenge plot, so the only thing he can really do is get to his brother, Macca.”
When David learns that Macca is throwing a party at The Dog & Gun, he goes to confront him, but is stopped before he reaches his nemesis.
“As David is peering through the window, there is a dark shadow behind him,” says Jack.
“The next thing he knows, he is pinned against a wall by this menacing character who wants to cause him harm.”
Realising he is outmatched, David gets the beating of his life and is left lying on the floor covered in blood.
But despite the pasting, David still wants revenge, and after returning home, plasters posters of Clayton around the Street.
Naturally, the police aren’t too happy and turn up at No.8 to arrest David on suspicion of perverting the course of justice.
While he’s at the station, however, David hears that Macca is in hospital with a head injury.
And once the police are satisfied he had nothing to do with the attack, he is released and heads straight to intensive care.
“He tells the ward staff he is there to see his ‘cousin’ Macca, but it’s clear he’s up to something sinister,” teases Jack. “David is there to kill…”
PHELAN EXPOSED?
So far, Eileen’s had her head in the clouds as far as Phelan is concerned, and since being offered a role as interior decorator for the dodgy development, she’s taking her new responsibilities very seriously.
So seriously, in fact, that she quits her job at Street Cars so she can focus on the project full time.
She discusses property options with Rita, who is keen to buy one of the flats for Jenny, then spends a fortune on some fancy tiles – a decision that doesn’t go down well with Vinny.
But it looks like Eileen might finally be cottoning on.
Her suspicions are first aroused when Tim reveals he’s just driven Vinny to the casino.
While the bad boy fobs her off, claiming he was there meeting a client who is purchasing the lake-view apartment, Eileen is alarmed when she later learns that is the very same flat Rita has already signed for.
Has she rumbled the scam of the century?
SARAH ASKS OUT GARY
Gary’s been looking out for Bethany for a while now, so he’s alarmed when he and Izzy spot the schoolgirl out running in her lunch break.
Worried the young lass is overdoing the exercise, Izzy tells Sarah what she’s seen.
Horrified, Sarah hauls her poor daughter to the café and insists on buying her lunch.
But whether it’s the prospect of one of Roy’s rolls or the sheer stress of having to eat,
Bethany bursts into tears and tells her mum that working out is her only distraction from all the stress in her life.
Relenting, Sarah agrees to Bethany renewing her gym membership on the condition that the teen follows a fitness plan from personal trainer Gary.
As Bethany accepts the deal, Sarah later invites Gary for a drink to thank him for all his help.
But while it’s clear the pair have a connection, is there too much baggage between them to make their date go swimmingly?
