BUSTED are back releasing new music for the first time in 12 years, and despite acknowledging that they do something “really cool” for a living the lads say that now that Matt Willis and Charlie Simpson are dads “working is a little bit harder.”
Speaking exclusively to The Sun Online as they unveil brand new single On What You’re On, Matt, 33, who has three children with TV presenter Emma Willis, and 31-year-old Charlie who has son Arlo, one, with wife Anna Barnard, opened up about how things are different from 15 years ago.
“I think everything’s different when you have a kid,” said Matt.
“Working is a little bit harder because when you’re away that’s the down side of being in a band - that you have you have some time away from your family.
“But that’s just our job and we get to do something really cool for a living, which is awesome but then we go home.”
While Charlie revealed that Arlo is into Bob The Builder, Matt, who has Isabelle, six, Ace, four, and Trixie Grace who was born in May, said that while his older two have good taste in music, the TV they like is “terrible.”
“My kids have quite good taste in music – I think that’s a slightly forceful hand from me, but they watch terrible TV shows.
“They watch this horrible thing called the descendants it’s on all the time, it’s horrible stuff,” he joked.
Unfortunately Matt’s ploy to get his children watching something more to his taste didn’t go to plan.
“I put on Ace Ventura for them the other day and they absolutely loved it and then it got really rude really quickly and I thought, ‘this is inappropriate, I need to turn this off.’”
Explaining how he dealt with a particularly intimate scene, Matt revealed: “ I said ‘Oh she’s tickling him!’”
Genius stuff.
