Pete Wicks blasted by Towie fans for betraying Megan McKenna with sexting scandal
Reality star came under fire from fans of the show after it was revealed he had been messaging an ex-girlfriend
PETE Wicks has been blasted by Towie fans for sexting his ex behind girlfriend Megan McKenna's back.
The Sun Online exclusively revealed on Friday the tattooed hunk had exchanged a string of saucy messages with former girlfriend, model Jacqui Ryland while on holiday with Megan in Barcelona.
The news immediately caused a furious row to erupt between the pair while they filmed the latest episodes of the ITVBe show in Marbella, Spain, and subsequently Pete was flown home to Essex by show bosses to try and diffuse the situation.
However fans have been up in arms about the 27-year-old's behaviour, and were quick to tell Pete exactly what they thought of him in the comments section of one of his Instagram photographs of him next to a giant red bulldog figure.
One wrote: "Actually shocked by you! I thought better of you & you give off this perception of yourself that you was a decent man & you would never disrespect a woman like that.
"Turns out your like most of the scum bags! She deserves better! [sic]"
Another outraged fan added: "I know and the worst thing is his a hypocrite telling all the guys on TOWIE how to treat a lady and then his is worse [sic]".
A third simply added: "f*** you for hurting megan".
However there were a few people on social media who defended Pete, insisting everyone can make silly mistakes.
They wrote: "shut the f*** up and leave Pete alone I beg...what's he ever done to you.

"We've all messed up and this is just another chapter in his life where you arrogant people who are against him should f*** off.
"He doesn't need you in his life so do one. [sic]".
Another added: "Sending love and support your way Pete, keep your chin up. We love ya".
Even more people posted on Pete's profile once they had seen the sad Snapchat videos Megan had posted revealing her heartbreak over the revelations.
The 24-year-old looked tearful as she explained what had happened between them in recent weeks, revealing she had known about some text messages between Pete and Jacqui a few weeks ago, but had given him a second chance, before learning the full extent of his betrayal.
One fan of Megan wrote: "People get way too involved in people's lives that they don't even know, but it is pretty disgusting what Pete has done.
"It's bad enough that he was sending explicit messages to his ex, but to basically slag his current gf off to her is so disrespectful.
"She doesn't drink much, isn't that a good thing?! Megan must feel heartbroken and humiliated to have the person she loves and supposedly loves her, put her down to not only another woman but his ex, that's low."
Others felt Pete should have been honest with Megan about how he felt about her instead of going behind her back, with one person writing: "OK so if the texts you sent to your ex were your true feelings then you should have done the right thing and finished with Megan before sending them.
"Stringing people along is not the done thing and you have now got to face the consequences of your actions!"
