Len Goodman leaves Strictly Come Dancing viewers baffled after calling Danny Mac ‘The Gay Blade’
Former Hollyoaks star wowed after performance as Zorro for Movie Week

LEN Goodman raised eyebrows after referring to Strictly Come Dancing contestant Danny Mac as ‘The Gay Blade’ following his performance on the BBC One dance show.
He and partner Oti Mabuse wowed during Movie Week as they performed a Zorro inspired paso doble.
It went down a storm with the judges, particularly head judge Len, 72, who enthused: “Out he comes, Danny Mac the Gay Blade.
“Swashbuckling performance, lovely shapes, beautiful mix of artistry and power.”
However there was some confusion over his choice of words with viewers online.
Twitter user @BronGlan wrote: “The gay blade – wtf?! #Strictly.”
Equally baffled, @frantothecesca pondered: “’Gay blade’?!?! Sorry Len What #SCD2016.”
As @WeeNeiller became the third to chip in: “What is a ‘gay blade’?”
Bless Len’s cotton socks for he was in fact referring to Zorro’s nickname in the 1981 film.

Meanwhile, Craig Revel Horwood enthused of Danny and Oti’s performance: “Timing, shaping, the lines were all absolutely excellent.
“It was a very strong, thoughtful and virtuoso performance.”
Agreeing, Darcey Bussell added: “I have to say the bodyshaping was so impressive for a guy to get the curves, the tuck.
“I thought for the amount of moves it was going to be too much for you, but you were able to create a pause with every move. You were able to fix those positions [and] for week three this is amazing!”
Danny’s turn on the dancefloor saw him soar to the top of the leader board with four solid 9s totalling 36 and making it the highest score of the current series to-date.
