Kylie Platt could be set to make an explosive return from the dead in Coronation Street.

The nail technician - who was played by actress Paula Lane - was seen dying in the arms of husband David in July after being brutally stabbed to death by Clayton.

Actress Helen Worth teased the potential return, saying: "You never know, you never know!

"You always expect characters to come back. You don't say goodbye, you just think they'll be there again."

It comes after David's explosive revenge plan was revealed by the Corrie star.

The grieving husband has become fixated on avenging her death and The Sun Online can now reveal that he is set to try to kill the man responsible in a fiery inferno - and take his own life in the process.

Dad of two David will buy a second hand care and pack it full of petrol and lay in wait to cause a fiery horror smash as Kylie's killer Clayton is transferred from prison to the court for his trial.
"David wants to kill [Clayton] but he knows the only way he's gonna kill him means that he has to kill himself in the process," actor Jack P Shepherd revealed.
"His plan is that he's going to blow him up," he added.
"He does a recce of the court and tries to see if he can get a weapon in there and shoot him but he sees that it's impossible to get a weapon past the security.

"He decides that he's going to have to get him before he gets to court so when the prison van approaches the court that's when he's going to drive alongside it  -the car is already doused in petrol, he will already be doused in petrol.
"His plan is to drive into the prison van, whip out his lighter and as the car blows up, they all blow up."
But before the hairdresser has a chance to put his plan into action, his mum Gail discovers what he's planning after he films a goodbye video for his children, and takes drastic action to stop him.
Gail, who's faced more than her fair share of murderers over the years - most famously Richard Hillman - plots with her other children to lock David in the Bistro's cellar so he can't try to kill Clayton, or himself.
Tricking David into the cellar at the restaurant, Nick and Gail slam the door shut and hope they've done enough to stop David in his tracks, but not everything goes to plan.
"He gets all the petrol and everything ready," added Jack.

He's made a video saying farewell to the kids and that is what alerts Gail and along with Sarah and Nick they come up with a plan to lock him in the cellar.
"They say that there's a power cut in the bistro, all the electric has gone out but it would be a nice idea to have a family meal by candlelight.
"David thinks it would be nice to spend the night with the family because he's obviously thinking it could be his last night alive."
The explosive scenes will air the week beginning October 17, but while David is hellbent on revenge for Kylie's death, Jack hasn't had chance to miss actress Paula Lane just yet.

"No, it's only because it has been non- stop, hasn't it and we haven't had time I don't think to think about her.
"And because the scenes we've been doing have been very dramatic, I think it'll feel weird when we're doing normal everyday Platt scenes and she's not there."

Watch the drama unfold next week on Coronation Street Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays on ITV
