Towie star Leah Wright vows to take on Killer Clowns terrorising Essex

The mum-of-three isn’t afraid of standing up to the ‘idiots’ posing as clowns

THE Killer Clowns craze hasn’t got Towie star Leah Wright running scared as she’s issued a threat to people trying the stunt in Essex.

As many as 20 reports were made last week as terrifying clowns were spotted all over the country and they seem to be deliberately targeting schools and schoolchildren – prompting warnings from police.

Instagram account Clowns_r_coming_to_essex, which is now private, declared schools in Essex would be targeted on Wednesday and encouraged people to propose other schools to visit.

Essex resident Leah isn’t taking the stunt lightly however and has revealed she’s ready for a fight should any come to her street.

Tweeting after the police revealed incidents involving clowns were increasing, Leah told her followers: “What idiots who think it's ok to scare #clownscare16 #growup #essex.

“I'll be waiting and let's see who's scared and I don't need a mask.”

Leah’s followers quickly congratulated her stance on the individuals dressing up as clowns.

One wrote: “They need scaring by a good kicking if you ask me.”

Another commented: “well said Leah I hope everyone is ok.”

It’s reported some of those taking part in the clown stunts are deliberately targeting children and young people, giving the mum-of-three good reason to worry.

One Monday, a group threatened to target schools in the country.

A spokesman for Essex Police said: “We are aware there is a suggestion on social media of clowns planning on visiting schools as part of this current craze.

“We would like to reiterate our previous message that people involved in this may commit offences under the Public Order Act 1986 and could find themselves being arrested.

“We would urge people to be considerate of the feelings of others, especially young children and the elderly.

“We also understand how this craze, which is becoming prominent on social media, is causing some people alarm and distress.

“Following this information relating to schools we will be liaising with them to provide reassurance. Anyone who has any information about any activity which is being planned is asked to contact police on 101.”
