Anastacia brushes off claims of Brendan Cole rift and confirms she won’t take part in the Strictly tour

FORMER Strictly Come Dancing contestant Anastacia has dismissed speculation that she did not get on with professional dancer Brendan Cole during an appearance on Loose Women.

The feisty singer opened up about her time on the BBC 1 dance contest show to the Loose Women panel consisting of Nadia Sawalha, Linda Robson, Lisa Riley and Janet Street Porter on Tuesday afternoon.

When asked how she was doing, Anastacia admitted: "I'm doing good.It's bittersweet. you know it's going to end, but you don't want it to."

The 48- year-old also took time to speak about her working relationship with Brendan as she explained: "Me and Brendan are fighters... not fighters (with each other). I think because we were both feisty, we loved that about each other."

She continued: "He has a great sense of humour, I think we might not have rehearsed as much as we should have. We had a lot of fun in the practice room."

As for the controversy she sparked when she skipped the dance off in the first voting week due to injury, she stated: "It was one muscle or the other, if I ripped my lat then I would have had to have gone to another surgery and I’ve already gone through nine to be here and look like a female.

"Not doing the dance off was purely because they didn't know if I'd injured myself so much I'd lose [the breast]. I felt awful. I didn't want anyone to think that I wouldn't have left. personally, that's not the kind of person that I am.

"But they had rules, and they had to go to the vote. You have to follow them."

She surprised the audience by revealing that her time with Strictly was over completely as she added: "I’m not going to do the Strictly tour because I am putting out a special project for my fans, I’m like Anaclaus... Santascia!"

Anastacia became the latest contestant booted off Strictly after she went up against model Daisy Lowe and Aljaž Škorjanec, who were also in the Dance Off last week.

Both couples were the lowest scoring after the judges’ scores and viewers votes were combined.

Anastacia and Brendan performed their jive again to ‘Bat out of Hell’, which certainly hadn’t impressed Craig Revel Horwood the first time round, who scored it a dismal 4.

The judge had called it “flat footed and laboured” while Len had compared it to an actual “meatloaf”.

They managed an average score of 25, which saw them at the bottom of the leaderboard.
