So, Sharif and Sonia have been having an affair for seven years, have they? You’d really think they’d know better than to talk about their sordid little secret in a house that hadn’t been thoroughly checked for eavesdroppers by now then.

And we don’t mean randomly calling out names once the juiciness is already underway.

But the daft pair began a heated discussion about the future of their affair - with only a cursory glance in the kitchen. Bad times.

Obviously, Yasmeen – played by Shelley King - was in the conservatory, and when she heard her best friend tell her hubby that she was tired of sneaking around, Yas decided that she had to hear more.

And what she heard was that the grotty little pair had been carrying on for ruddy ages.

“There have been too many near misses,” complained Sharif as he tried to bin Sonia off.

“But we love each other!” pleaded Sonia the Snake. “I have seen you through the best and the worst of times, Sharif.”

Somehow, Yas refrained from running in and starting another infamous Catfight on the Cobbles.

Instead, she wisely remembered that revenge is a dish best served cold. “There’s one thing for certain,” she told granddaughter Alya (Sair Khan), with a steely look in her eyes. “I won’t let him get away with it.”

Now, we know that Marc Anwar who plays Sharif has been sacked from Corrie after an ill-advised rant on Twitter.

Could Yas’ revenge be what sees Sharif leave the cobbles for good?
