EASTENDERS fans fear that Lee Carter’s depression may lead to him taking his own life.

To make matters worse for Lee, played by Danny-Boy Hatchard, he is being cruelly bullied by his boss and colleague and failing to meet company targets.

As viewers watched the lad who suffers from depression look increasingly distraught, many labelled the scenes “heartbreaking” and worried that his impending exit could be because of a breakdown, or even suicide.

One tweeted: “Watching Lee is heartbreaking… Speak out guys. You're never alone. Help is out there. #eastenders #depression”, while another added: “Lee’s storyline is heartbreaking. It's hard to think about people dealing with things like that everyday of their lives #eastenders @danboy”

Others wondered whether this harrowing storyline is preparing the character for his exit in the most tragic way.

Comments included: “Lee is either going to run away or commit suicide. #EastEnders”, “Oh poor Lee, I can see him having a breakdown I really feel for him #eastenders” and “I can see a suicide story coming for Lee, as much as I'd hate it😭😩 #EastEnders.”

This isn’t the first time fans have theorised that suicide could be responsible for Lee’s exit.

Following his wife Whitney’s miscarriage last month which saw Lee breakdown in tears fans questioned whether his mental illness may lead to his untimely death.
