ED'S YOU LOSE

BBC at war over Ed Balls as Strictly Come Dancing judges and producers clash over UK’s favourite dad dancer’s ‘unstoppable’ march to final

STRICTLY’S judges and producers are at loggerheads over Ed Balls’ seemingly unstoppable march to the show’s final.

Despite his comic moves, ex-Shadow Chancellor Ed, 49, is yet to finish in the bottom two thanks to huge public support.

The judges believe he should quit to avoid the BBC show descending into farce. But producers want him to stay as his bumbling routines are boosting ratings.

Ed and pro partner Katya Jones, 27, got their highest score at the weekend — 27 out of 40.  And he says he has no plans to quit while the public support him.

An insider said: “The judges publicly say Ed is entertaining because he is.

“But privately they think it’s making a mockery of the show if he gets to the final as there are so many talented dancers this year.

“The producers are over the moon he’s still in it and have been congratulating themselves as it has boosted ratings over the X Factor.”

Judge Craig Revel Horwood, 51, told Radio Times Ed “could go on to win it” on December 11. But he warned the dad dancer he’ll be out straight away if he ends up in the bottom two.
