He grunts and squeals as he sticks his hands in to a stinking tub of rotting vegetables.

"How does it smell in there?" ask Ant and Dec as the soap hunk growls in rage.

He then faces a tray of rats - but is so rough with them in his bid to grab another star that the Geordie duo have to remind him to be "nice and gentle" with the innocent creatures.

In the final tub he comes face to face with some palm-sized spiders - and screams with absolute terror.

His reaction had viewers in absolute stitches, one tweeted: "This is comedy gold"

Another said: "Oh my god I'm laughing so hard"

With another saying: "Adam cracks me up"

Before the trail Ant and Dec explained what Adam was in for saying: "It's the factory floor from hell where they make nothing but misery.

"You'll wish you'd never clocked on for a shift at the Bushtucker Food Factory."

The soap star was visibly worried when the results were revealed and he said: "I'm going to be horrific at this."

However, Martin Roberts- who faced the most snakes EVER in an I'm A Celeb trial - gave him some words of encouragement telling him: "You'll be ace at this!"

Later on during I'm A Celeb Extra Camp, Stacey Solomon paid a visit to the Factory to see the spiders, rotten vegetables and other creepy crawlies he'll have to deal with.

Trial creator Ben showed her a trough explaining: "This is rotten veg in stagnant water and there's going to be a few stars in there.

"This has been rotting for a few days and the water is from the swamp."
