Eagle-eyed viewers at home thought that the group were lip-syncing their parts on Sunday's live show
EAGLE-EYED X Factor viewers were left less than happy on Sunday night's show - after spotting that the first performance from the contestants looked like it was mimed.
The final five acts - Honey G, Five After Midnight, Saara Alto, Emily Middlemas and Matt Terry - took to the stage in matching red and black outfits to perform Elton John classic Saturday Night's Alright (For Fighting).
Fans were quick to pan the performance - not only because it was performed on a SUNDAY night - but because viewers at home became convinced that the group were miming through their high-energy song choice.
Sharing their concerns online, one wrote: "Whose vocal are they miming to? Definitely none of theirs. "
Another added: "Opening of ... Is this Xfactor or Lip-sync battle ?"
Others thought it was just North Weezy rapper Honey G miming to the song instead of singing, and blasted her directly.
One wrote: "Right, group song, everybody. Here, Honey G, just hold this dummy microphone and pretend you're singing along... "
Another said: "Do they turn off honey g's mic off when they do the group song? "
A third praised the performance, but added: "They all sounded SO good in that group song! Best one done in ages! So I guess Honey G's microphone wasn't on. xx"
The Sun Online has contacted X Factor representatives for comment.
Honey G was finally eliminated from The X Factor on Sunday night after finding herself in the bottom two of the public vote and facing off against boyband 5 After Midnight in the sing off.
It comes after the show was plunged into chaos when five men invaded the stage and left Honey shaking shortly after her performance on Saturday night.
The Sun Online quickly revealed that the pranksters were from online site Trollstation, and had been jailed in May after terrifying people with an ill-thought out fake art heist at the National Portrait Gallery.
Earlier in the evening, the gang’s leader, Daniel Jarvis posted a video on his Facebook page promising he would make his X Factor debut during the show.
Simon Cowell ran to the rapper's aid as the men ran down from the audience, with one lunging at her - appearing to try and remove her hat and sunglasses.
They then all stormed the stage when Honey G was rapping.
