Alan Carr will return to Channel 4 this Christmas for a festive Chatty Man special

AFTER his last Chatty Man series ended in May 2016, fans were left wondering if that was the end of Alan Carr’s future as a chat show host.

Reports suggested the show had been axed because of low ratings.

But Alan soon reassured them that it hadn’t been cancelled but was just on hold as he worked on other projects.

Chatty Man will return for a festive special this Christmas – and here’s what we know.

No broadcast time has been given but that might be because he won’t pre-record the show until the 13th.

Will we see more of Alan Carr this Christmas?

Yes, he is currently hosting a special quiz show called The Twelve Stars of Christmas airing for five days in the run up to Christmas.

Each episode will feature three celebrity guests who will take it turn to won prizes for members of the audience.

Alan will also host his New Year Specstacular on New Year’s Eve on Channel 4 between 4 and 9pm.

Alan will be back with a three-part special series called Happy Hour which starts on December 2

Guests include actor Danny Dyer, comedian and presenter Keith Lemon, Olympian and Strictly star Greg Rutherford, presenter Laura Whitmore, actor Will Mellor and TOWIE star Gemma Collins.

Why wasn’t there a new series of Chatty Man this autumn?

Chatty Man will be back for a Christmas but in the meantime, Alan has been hosting a new three-show series called Alan Carr’s Happy Hour, which starts on Friday December 2.

The new show will broadcast at an earlier time than Chatty Man and will air just before the watershed at 8pm – which means no boozing for naughty antics from any of the guests.
