'ALL THE FUN'S SIZZLED OUT'

Strictly fans gutted about the loss of second ‘fun’ act Judge Rinder and worry about ‘boring’ final

Judge Rinder's elimination comes just a week after joke act Ed Balls' departure

STRICTLY fans were left utterly gutted this evening after Judge Rinder and his dance partner Oksana Platero were axed from the competition, with some claiming that the show had now lost "all the fun".

His exit has closely followed that of beloved joke act Ed Balls, who left the competition last week.

The ITV judge landed in the bottom two against Ore Oduba and her partner Kevin Clifton.

Judge Rinder re-performed their samba to Oh! What a Night! from Jersey Boys in a bid to impress the judges and remain in the competition.

The judges voted unanimously to save Ore and Joanne after they re-performed their foxtrot World of Pure Imagination from Charlie and the Chocolate Factory – with Craig saying that they had better technique than Judge Rinder and Oksana.

On her decision, Darcey Bussell chose to save Ore and Joanne and said; “I just have to say you both did wonderful performances tonight and it was such a pleasure to watch you both, I know how much hard work goes into it.

“But the couple I would like to save just on their artistry and technique is Ore and Joanne.”

Bruno Tonioli said: “Well first I want to say thank you both for the entertainment, I had a great time but I have to say that the couple that gave me the better quality overall and for that reason I save Ore and Joanne.”

But fans weren't too pleased about the result and took to Twitter to claim that Strictly had now "lost the fun".

A viewer tweeted: "First Ed and now The Judge... fun has now gone out of #strictly".

Another agreed: "After losing Ed [and now we've] lost Rinder we'll have lost all the fun #Strictly."

One commented after finding out the result prior to the Sunday show: "Gutted with the #StrictlySpoiler. The fun has officially ended. Only trained dance people left in a show about learning how to dance."
Another remarked: "with judge rinder gone, there's no fun personalities left in the ballroom! won't be as good now."

Meanwhile others worried that the departure of the last two contestants meant that the final could be "boring".

One tweeted: "Couldn't care less if I miss #Strictly next week, 3 boring people with irritating professionals."

Another agreed: "@bbcstrictly @JudgeRinder it'll be boring with him and @OksanaDmytrenko :( #scd #strictly."
