HE has collaborated with some of the biggest names in British music including Jess Glynne, Mabel and Calum Scott.
And that’s not including remixing songs for superstars Kylie Minogue, Ed Sheeran and Miley Cyrus.
But Jax Jones is on the cusp of pulling off the biggest collaboration of his career – with none other than Prince William’s wife Kate.
Speaking backstage in Ibiza, Jax tells me the down-to-earth Princess of Wales is already on board to film a cameo to be played at upcoming live gigs.
The Where Did You Go hit-maker previously teamed up with Kate after being named an ambassador of her Shaping Us campaign.
Jax, whose real name is Timucin Lam, said: “I am talking to Kate’s team about doing a special visual for my shows of her dancing.

“That would be sick, right? I wanted to do it for the Summertime ball but it’s still in progress. You know you’ve got to use those connections.
“I am seeing them again in December. We are shooting a bunch of content — they haven’t shot it down as an idea.
“They said they are up for it but they have the official channels.
“You can’t just bring out your camera phone and shoot Kate. She has a big team so you have to do it properly.

“I want ideally both Kate and Will but if it’s just Kate then that is also more than cool. Just them dancing in time.”
The unlikely pals first crossed paths after he performed at the late Queen Elizabeth II’s Platinum Jubilee in 2022 outside Buckingham Palace.
He previously said: “Our relationship started at the Jubilee and we hung out at Buckingham Palace afterwards.
“We all got talking — they are super nice and super welcoming. To be asked to get involved and be an ambassador is a real honour.
“They are really down to earth and they just want to do positive things.
“I was so concerned about getting the addresses wrong.
“So the first time you meet a princess you say, ‘Your Highness’ and then it’s ‘Ma’am’, but they make you feel so at ease.
“We were chatting prior to the launch and spent the day at Windsor Castle having a real brainstorm of ideas.”
I WAS JUST TOO SHY TO SAY HI TO KYLIE
AFTER working with a legion of major names, Jax still gets starstruck.
In fact when he bumped into Kylie Minogue backstage at Capital FM’s Summertime Ball, he admitted he was so nervous he wouldn’t go up to speak to her.
Producer Jax remixed Kylie’s latest single Padam Padam, helping the dance track become the song of the summer.
He told me while relaxing at Hard Rock Ibiza before his set: “If I spoke to Kylie I would be shy. She is a superstar.
“She was having an interview backstage and I got very, very shy. I didn’t say hi. I am always that guy.
“At that point she had asked me to do the remix but it wasn’t out at that point. I should have said hi but I didn’t.
“I think she is amazing and an absolute icon and she is still putting out music. I find it inspiring as well, where she still has the energy to put out music.
“I know what that feels like. The track is amazing. That’s why I remixed it.”
I DON’T NEED BIG NAMES
JAX dropped his latest single – the hard-hitting banger Need You Now with D.O.D – on Friday.
His musical partner – a British DJ and producer – is yet to become a household name.
But Jax says he is not hooked on pairing with the industry’s biggest names.
He added: “I get posts recommended to me on social media and that is how I find new and exciting artists.
“My algorithm is lit, man. I message artists and we catch up.
“I find with collaborations it is all about the quality of the song and less about the big name.”
CAN I PLAY PICCADILLY CIRCUS?
HE has played gigs all over the world, but there is one place Jax is still determined to hit the decks – Piccadilly Circus.
The Out Out hitmaker admits he dreams of taking over the iconic London square in a homecoming gig.
He said: “DJ Snake played the Arc de Triomphe.
“So something in my town would be amazing. That is why I shot the Me And My Guitar video flying over the city and the Whistle video on my old bus, the 176.”
Jax also hopes to follow in rapper and singer Post Malone’s footsteps and land a voiceover gig for a major Hollywood film.
The dad of two said: “I want to do things to impress my kids.
“I grew up watching Ninja Turtles and they have just got the new film with Post. I want to do something like that in the future.”
TENNIS v JOHN NEWMAN
WHEN he’s not on the decks, Jax loves to unwind with close pal singer John Newman.
The DJ told me they often hit the tennis court, but he’s yet to beat him.
Jax, who saw Dutch producer Martin Garrix’s headline Ibiza set with the rest of the public, said: “When I’m here I like to visit other DJs’ sets. I am about good vibes.
“When I’m home John comes round to play tennis. He is better than me. He is six foot and I’m five seven, so I have to scurry around.”
QUICKFIRE Q&A
BIGGEST BAR TAB?: “It was £30,000 and actually here in Ibiza. It was an excellent night.
“When you start getting tables and champagne it escalates.”
CELEBRITY HALL PASS?: “I don’t have one, man. I am loyal to my wife.”
WORST HABIT?: “I over-think things.”
DEATH ROW MEAL?: “I have talked about this a lot with my wife you know. It’s always good to consider.
“First of all I would just keep going right. I love fish and chips and Iove dimsum and wonton soup.
“For dessert, I will be full but look it’s my death row meal I will have a long time to digest.
“I really love the Remeo Gelato ice cream. I can just keep going.”
FAVOURITE DRINK?: “You don’t want any wasted calories if you are trying to maintain your waistline baseline so for me I go really low calorie with soda water and vodka, but vodka and slimline tonic is to go.
“If you want to get really mashed up then go for a Long Island ice tea.”
His top tips to avoid a hangover
1) PREVENTION: Prevention is always better than a cure. Before you go to bed take a paracetamol – but listen, I’m not a doctor.
2) SNACKS: There is scientific evidence that the kebab helps.
The junk food soaks up the alcohol before you go to bed. Chips as well – literally anything.
It’s ok . . . if Jax says you can eat what you want, it’s time to eat.
WHEN JAX MET JACK
I’M no stranger to Ibiza clubs but being invited to see Jax play at Ushuaia on the White Isle was incredible.
As well as being a top-class DJ, Jax is also a lad who, just like me, loves a slug of tequila or three.
