X Factor viewers speculate that Matt Terry shared a kiss with Freddy Parker after win
X Factor viewers were sent into a frenzy last night after they thought they saw Matt Terry share a kiss with former contestant Freddy Parker after his win.
Eagle-eyed fans believe they saw the pair hug and kiss as they were swarmed by this year’s contestants just moments after he was crowned winner.
But an X Factor rep has denied the pair shared a kiss and shut down speculation the cameraman veered away from them.
Those watching at home took to Twitter to comment on the ‘moment’ , with one writing: "Did Matt just kiss Freddy?"
While another one added: "Did Matt and Freddy having a cheeky wee snog?"
After seeing the tweets, Gifty - who also appeared on the show - shut down speculation tweeting: "lol Matt and Freddy are not together. Bloody hell 😂😂"
Matt, 23 and Freddy, 18, made up two thirds of Nicole Scherzinger’s boys category and grew close during their time on the show.
Once Freddy lost his place on the show, he continued to support Matt and regularly tweeted to encourage his fans to keep him in the competition.
And last night following Matt's win over Saara Alto, Freddy uploaded a selfie of the pair and alongside a heart emoji, he wrote: "My brother... you did it."
Last night viewers watched as Matt Terry triumphed over runner up Saara Aalto in a gripping final, which saw over 6.4 million votes cast for the two contestants.
Speaking through tears after he found out he had won, Matt only managed to say: "Thank you, thank you, thank you."
And then it was Dermot's turn to show Matt the cover of his debut single - a lyrically stunning song called 'When Christmas Comes Around' penned by pop star Ed Sheeran.
Congratulating Matt on his win, Simon said: "I want to say to both of you, you came into this final as good artists and you've ended it as great artists.
"The thing I'm most proud about this show - when you see Little Mix and some of the other artists tonight and what they've done with their lives - this is why we make this show.
"You are now part of this chapter. What I promise you Matt is we will give you 100 per cent. You deserve this opportunity.
"Saara, what can I say? You were incredible as well. Both mentors were amazing too. But Matt, this is your night. This is an important record."
Following his win, Matt took to Twitter to write a very lengthy thank you to everyone on the show.
He wrote: "X Factor Family this is for you.
"You guys are my friends for life and I cannot wait to see you all again and have some proper laughs."
The winner then went on to thank everyone from the producers, to the dancers and of course his fans.
He added: "Still COMPLETELY in shock! I'm so grateful! So happy to say my new single #WhenChristmasComesAround is out now!!!❤️"
