Eagle-eyed Sherlock fans discover Watson and Mary’s baby’s name in an online births, marriages and deaths register
Internet super-sleuths are giving the iconic character a run for his money ahead of the new series

SHERLOCK fans are giving the super-sleuth a run for his money - after discovering the name of John and Mary Watson's child.
Eagle-eyed viewers of the show have been scouring the internet for clues regarding what's in store in the upcoming fourth series of the BBC smash hit.
Now, their hard work has paid off, and the Daily Telegraph's Births, Marriages and Deaths section revealed that John and Mary have had a baby daughter - as well as the name of the child.
The announcement reads: "Congratulations! To John and Mary Watson on the birth of their beautiful baby daughter, Rosamund Mary Watson. From your friends, Mrs Hudson, Molly and Sherlock, although he hasn't helped us with this at all as he's always on his phone."
Fans already knew about the Watsons' upcoming arrival, and guessed it was a baby girl after a promotional photo saw Sherlock wrinkling his nose up at the pink onesie wearing tot strapped to her dad's chest in a carrier.
Benedict Cumberbatch is back in the deer stalker and trench coat for what promises to be the most intense series yet.
The show is set to return on New Year’s Day with an episode titled The Six Thatchers, which will be part of a three-episode run.

Rumours also suggest that a third Holmes brother — Sherrinford — might pay a visit to Baker Street in the new series, and Benedict Cumberbatch has previously joked that he would like Tom Hiddleston in the role.
Toby Jones takes the helm as this series’ bad guy in the shape of Culverton Smith – and his sadistic laugh is set to send chills down your spine as his plans come together.
Due to the overwhelming success of lead actors Benedict and Martin Freeman, who plays John Watson, many believe that this series of the BBC show will be the last – as the demand for the duo makes it almost impossible to have them together.
Filming on the new series began in April this year having been pushed back almost six months due to the cast’s busy schedules.
During an interview with GQ this year, Benedict admitted that this series felt like “the end of an era” and said: “I’d love to revisit it, I’d love to keep revisiting it, I stand by that, but in the immediate future we all have things that we want to crack on with and we’ve made something very complete as it is, so I think we’ll just wait and see. The idea of never playing (Sherlock) again is really galling.”
Catch Sherlock Series 4, New Year's Day on BBC1.
