She previously admitted she was in a “difficult position” over whether to return.

“I would love to come back but I'm in a difficult position.

“I'm signed to CBS and I've been with them for seven years with amazing women on The Talk and it’s up to Simon to see if they'll let me do it.

“My whole life is travel so if I hadn't been here I would've been in South America with Ozzy so the travelling doesn't bother me it's that I had to keep going back each week for the show.”

Sharon Osbourne has appeared as a co-host on the talk since the launch of the show in 2010.

She originally appeared as a judge on the X Factor from 2004 until 2007, briefly reappeared in 2013 and then returned this year.

Her first stint on the X Factor became known for her fall out with Australian pop star Dannii Minogue.

Sharon later spilt the beans on the backstage feud during an appearance on the Graham Norton Show.

At the time she ranted: “She [Dannii] knows she's there because of her looks, not because of her contribution to the music industry.

"She's younger, she's better-looking, Simon wants her and he doesn't want me - thank God."

In 2011 she admitted she had buried the hatchet with the eighties popstar.

“It’s fair enough to say we didn’t get on for a long time. But that’s all in the past. Dannii used to just be an old Eighties disco queen to me but now she’s blossomed into a true woman and I have respect for her.

“I would love to return to The X Factor and sit alongside Louis and Dannii. It’s time for me to come home.”

Dannii joins Take That star Gary Barlow, Spandau Ballet singer Martin Kemp and Lulu for BBC’s new talent show Let It Shine.
