The Apprentice’s Alana Spencer and Courtney Wood to go head-to-head in the final

ALANA Spencer and Courtney Wood are sailing through to the final after a brutal interview stage.

The pair managed to beat three other candidates to bag the final two places.

First to be fired was Grainne McCoy after she revealed that she hadn't yet finished her training.

Quirky Jessica Cunningham was fired after Lord Sugar expressed concerns about her business plan.

Lord Sugar first gave the OK to Alana, who looked utterly shocked and began to tear up.

He then said that it was "a tough one" between Frances Bishop and Courtney, but in the end dismissed Frances after The Apprentice boss considered her business to not be "scalable" enough.

Courtney grinned at Alana and remarked: "And then there were two."

Lord Sugar said: "Congratulations, you two. You've battled your way through 11 weeks of gruelling tasks, you're now going to go into the final."

He added: "If you think what you've done so far is tough, this one is going to be even tougher."

The two finalists then hugged it out outside the boardroom.

Irritated about only just not making it through to the final two, Frances remarked that she was "more charismatic" than Courtney and that she had "genuinely thought" she could have been in the final.

Ever the positive one, she said: "I've got such a bright, brilliant future."

Alana and Courtney hugged it out once again in the taxi before Alana remarked: "It's all smiles now but you're the one standing in my way of £250,000."

Game on.
