Mel C proves she’s still Sporty Spice as she is pictured on a run after admitting she is finally happy and healthy following years of eating disorder hell

Singer had battled an eating disorder at the height of her Spice Girls fame

MEL C showed why she will always be known as Sporty Spice while out for a run in London.

The former Spice Girl looked as fit as ever in her black exercise trousers and trainers as she jogged through the streets in the North of the capital on Sunday.

The 42-year-old wrapped up against the cold in a berry coloured sports jacket and black scarf, while she had her music strapped to her arm and headphones in so she could keep motivated during the exercise session.

As her hair swung from side to side as she ran along the pavement and past a bus stop, members of the public were oblivious to the fact one fifth of one of the world's biggest ever girl bands was passing them by.

Mel's fitness session comes just days after she opened up about how sport and exercise had helped her overcome the eating disorder which had crippled her at the height of her Spice Girls fame.

“I was in the spotlight, being photographed constantly, and I started to become self-conscious of my body image.”

"I love to be physically fit and, obviously, to really push yourself, you have to make sure you eat the right things. I like to think I have a healthy relationship with food now, and I love to cook.”

The star said something similar earlier this year: “When the Spice Girls were at their biggest, I couldn’t even really look at myself in the mirror because I didn’t like what I saw.
