Louis Walsh reveals he signed up for I’m A Celebrity – but Simon Cowell persuaded him out of it with X Factor job offer

LOUIS Walsh has revealed he signed up for I'm A Celebrity - but was persuaded out of it by his X Factor boss Simon Cowell at the last minute.
The star appeared on Alan Carr's 12 Stars of Christmas tonight and admitted he could have been facing creepy crawlies and kangaroo's testicles in the jungle, but Simon gave him an X Factor offer he couldn't refuse.
"I was offered the one in the jungle, the I'm A Celebrity one."
Asked why he turned it down, Louis replied: "Simon Cowell rang me.
He added: "Simon rung me and said, 'don’t do it darling, don't do it, I've got another plan for you'.
"He was obviously giving me the gig back.”
Alan replied: "So he saved you from going on the show?"
The 64-year-old left the audience in hysterics as he explained Sharon was just "high" - before realising his mistake and quickly correcting himself.
Asked if he buys his fellow judges Christmas presents, Louis said: “I give this panel presents because I like them.”
He added: “I don’t know what I’m going to get Sharon though, because she’s got everything.”

Louis insisted: “We don’t drink at all. We never drink before the show. She’s not drunk, she’s just high. She’s happy.”
As his comment received laughs all round, he added: “High on life.
Sharon sparked shock on the last series as she forgot her own act's name and was more outspoken than usual.
However she later insisted it wasn't down to drink.
