WHAT can't you miss on TV tonight? Our guide to the must-see shows...
Death in Paradise, 9pm, BBC1
Considering the island of Saint Marie has such a high proportion of murders and an endless variety of remote estates on which they’re committed, it’s certainly not beyond the realms of possibility for it to have a literary festival, is it?
And if the writers were going to invent a literary festival, they may as well also invent a previously-unmentioned famous author whose bestselling novel is set on the island.
Local literature buffs should have known to avoid the festival, though, as gatherings on Saint Marie always end in murder – and this time it’s a student with a secret.
Monica Dolan (right) and Ramon Tikaram are among the guest cast in another jaunty episode that has one twist you can see coming a mile off, and one that remains much more surprising.
NEW! Spy In The Wild, 8pm, BBC1
Wildlife programmes don’t get more in-depth than this, as 30 ‘spy creatures’ are deployed to live among the animals in the wild and capture never-seen-before animal behaviour.
Lifelike replicas of orang-utans, crocodiles and wild dogs not only record, but also elicit responses
that will shock and surprise you. A fascinating and informative watch.
Unforgotten, 9pm, ITV
Now they have the victim’s name, David Walker, Cassie (Nicola Walker, left) and Sunny (Sanjeev Bhaskar, right) are discovering more about his life.
But there’s a lot to investigate – an address on his travel card, some strange letters from his pager and a link to a lawyer in Brighton who is clearly hiding something big. Clever, dark and totally gripping.
NEW! The Cruise: Sailing the Mediterranean, 8.30pm, ITV
Cruises may be luxurious for passengers, but this documentary is a fantastic insight into the hard work of the 1,400 staff on board the Royal Princess.
First stop is Santorini in Greece, and Timothy (above) is dealing with lost luggage while Scott has the unenviable task of inspecting the toilet filters.
All with a smile too. That’s dedication.
