THE WORST CONTESTANT EVER

Come Dine With Me fans celebrate 1 year anniversary of THAT episode featuring ‘biggest loser’ Peter Marsh

Viewers described it as 'beautifully unbearable' and 'TV gold' - even referring to him as a Nick Griffin lookalike

COME Dine With Me has accrued many fans over the years, but one moment featuring the Channel 4 show's 'biggest loser' Peter Marsh still has fans in tears of laughter a year later.

Viewers have taken to Twitter over the last few days to celebrate the most cringeworthy episode in the cooking show's history.

The saleman from Oxfordshire was left utterly fuming after finding out that he had come last in the competition and threw the biggest hissy fit ever, even beating Heather Horsfall's major strop.

In the clip, Peter's face drops as he finds out that he's come last but shakes his head at fellow contestant Jane.

She says: "I don't know why you're shaking your head at me."

He responds, deadpan: "You won, Jane."

As she gasps "oh my god," he tells her: "Enjoy the money, I hope it makes you very happy."
Peter then remarks, with the trio looking incredibly awkward on the sofa: "Dear Lord, what a sad little life Jane. You ruined my night completely so that you could have the money. But I hope you spend it on getting some lessons on grace and decorum because you have all the grace of a reversing dump truck without any tyres on."

They laugh awkwardly as the other female contestant, Charlotte, says that she "doesn't get it", to which he responds: "Well you wouldn't, let's be honest, there's nobody in there love."

Peter then demands: "So Jane, take your money and get off my property."

And viewers enjoyed another giggle at the intensely cringey of the clip.

Ricky Gervais chimed in, commenting: "That's the type of awkward I can only aspire to in fiction."

Another tweeted: "I remember making my family watch this because it was so beautifully unbearable."

The original poster of the video remarked: "i still watch it like once a month."

A fan remarked: "I so remember this and it is TV gold!"

While another felt that the contestant held a striking resemblance looks-wise to a certain former BNP leader: "Shouldn't have let Nick Griffin on the show in the first place."

Last year he spoke to The Mirror and said: "What’s shown is not all that happens and people will believe what they’re shown."

He locked his Twitter account after the clip went viral and he was bombarded with messages.
