Lauren Goodger ‘first met’ jailbird boyfriend Joey Morrison when he called her mate’s house from prison… and SHE answered
Towie star Lauren’s romance with the convict is far from conventional
LAUREN Goodger has revealed she fell for her jailbird lover Joey Morrison after chatting with him over the phone from HMP Standford Hill.
The Towie star was at a friend’s house when the lag – who’s been behind bars since 2009 for possession of a firearm, kidnap and blackmail – called the home phone and she answered.
Love blossomed between the pair during long conversations in the visitors’ rooms at HMP Standford Hill and HMP Highpoint South and now they’re planning on having a baby together.
Lauren made the revelation during Channel 5’s In Therapy, where she was quizzed about her relationship with Joey – who’s set to be released in 21 months.
Explaining they were in the same social circle, Lauren then admitted they didn’t properly know each other until they talked on the phone, explaining to her therapist: “I spoke to him on the phone.
“He’d rung the house phone and I chatted to him for a bit [from prison].
“It’s mad, I know. I know how it sounds, not like real life. Me being in love with somebody that’s in prison…”
Despite their lack of contact, with Lauren admitting: “nothing intimate has happened between us,” the 30-year-old is besotted with Joey.
During the programme, Lauren is filmed talking on the phone with Joey.
She later explains that she speaks to him “all day every day” to reassure him about her day to day life.
She tells him: “Chill, chill, chill. It’s all going to be good. Love you, bye.”

Lauren later says: “I have to try and reassure him. I give him good answers rather than being like ‘yeah’ and going along with it
“I talk to him all day, every day.”
Despite their lack of physical contact, Lauren is determined to make her relationship with Joey work when he’s released and is even planning on giving him a ready made family.
Her friend Jodi explained on the show: “She wants to have a baby while he comes out on day release.
“I don’t think she sees it like he’s in prison, I think she sees it like he’s coming out soon.”
Another pal, Lisa, added: “She is so desperate to start a family and she loves him so much she doesn’t care how it happens as long as it happens.”
Until Joey is released, Lauren continues to make a four hour round trip to see Joey twice a week.
She said: “This is the weirdest relationship ever but it’s exciting and I think that’s what I like.
“Is this the right one? I hope so, it’s how I feel. I like the good qualities in him.
“A bad boy never cheats, they’re loyal, strong, family men – they’ve got a bit of a naughty side to them.”
Lauren’s made no secret of her relationship with the criminal and over Christmas, she showed off an incredible white gold and diamond ring he’d bought for her.
Posting a picture of her new bit of bling on Instagram, Lauren wrote: “I’m a very lucky girl”.
