Rio Ferdinand is getting close to Towie’s Kate Wright – two years after the tragic death of wife Rebecca
The former Manchester United captain has enjoyed a number of nights out with the reality TV star

ENGLAND football legend Rio Ferdinand is getting close to Towie beauty Kate Wright, The Sun can reveal.
The former Manchester United captain, 38, has enjoyed a number of nights out with the reality TV star and mutual pals as they strive to keep the relationship away from the spotlight.
Pals close to the pair believe a full-on romance may still be some way off, as Rio is still grieving the loss of his wife Rebecca in May 2015 after losing her battle with breast cancer.
A source said: “Rio and Kate have enjoyed spending time with each other with other friends.

“There’s a real connection there but Rio is in no rush to turn this into a serious relationship.
“His number one priority are his three kids and he will always put their welfare in front of anything else.
“But Kate is very smitten with him and therefore happy to wait and see what happens.”
Kate, 25, has been a regular on the ITVBe reality show for two years and has quickly racked up a huge male fan base.
Her busty bikini selfies on Instagram has seen her follower count surge while her tiny waist has been a talking point online.
The pair are thought to have been introduced by mutual friends in the Essex area, where Kate is a familiar face due to her time on Towie.
She has been single after splitting from on/off boyfriend Dan Edgar, 26, which has been constant storyline in the reality series.
Since the tragic death of Rebecca at just 34 years of age, Rio has kept his distance from female company as he continues to mourn his wife of six years.
However, due to his retirement from football in 2015, he has been able to focus on TV work with a punditry job on BT Sport, while also enjoying a similar role with the BBC during their Euro 2016 coverage.
He’s also veered away from football on TV by appearing in the celebrity version of The Crystal Maze which formed part of Channel 4’s Say No To Cancer charity night.
