Janet had the Loose Women audience in stitches when she made the quip about intimacy in later life
JANET Street Porter has revealed she plans to be ‘knickers down and available’ when she’s in her eighties.
The 70-year-old was speaking about intimacy in later life during a discussion on Loose Women when she made the quip.
Her Loose Women co-star Coleen rounded off the topic, which was based on a new study about intimacy in the elderly, and said: “I was shocked that when they get into their eighties they start getting their mojo back.”
Janet then replied: “Maybe when you get to 80 you realise, it doesn’t matter what I look like or what I say, I’ve got nothing to lose.
“Whereas in your sixties and seventies I think I’m still worried about my appearance and not making too big of a fool of myself
“Perhaps when I get to 85 it’ll be knickers down and I’m available.
As the audience started to laugh hysterically, Janet continued: “Sorry I said that!
“I’m just talking about the reality of sex when you’re 80.
“You’re not going to achieve it by just touching hands.”

Janet’s previously been very vocal about sex in later life, saying on the show back in September that single older women “should get sex on the NHS”.
She said: “I think the best way is if the National Health Service opened a new department next to A&E for older women like me who can't find a partner, who are looking for a bit of nookie to prolong their lives.
“And we go through and it's got very discreet signage, and we go in a cubicle and have a quickie.
“Because they would be saving loads of money!”
