More than 30 years later, this time around his fiance Hayley Roberts was on-hand to witness the action and the Welsh lass looked stunning in a floor-length blue dress.

The series first aired in 1982 and ran until 1986.

Actor David was seen surrounded by film crew as he chatted about his lines while flashing his honed body.

He then pulled on a crisp white shirt and  a snazzy pair of designer sunglasses as he got into work mode.

David, who was joined on-set by The Batchelor star Ben Higgins and wife Lauren Bushnell, along with twins Emily and Haley Ferguson, then strode into the middle of a grassy field to shoot scenes directly in front of the camera.

Minutes later he stood in front of Kitt, a 1982 Knights Industries Two Thousand model, and was seen with a stern expression on his face as he chatted to a co-star.

He seemed to relish his reunion with the snazzy motor and was seen looking admiringly at its shiny exterior.

The vehicle - complete with personalised reg SPM KITT - also caught the eye of Hayley, 34, who couldn't resist getting a closer look between takes.

She was seen rehydrating with a bottle of water as David filmed before joining him as shooting wrapped for the day.

They enjoyed a natter before she strode away in her elegant gown.

Meanwhile screen star David's profile rocketed after the debut programme of Knight Rider, with the star being picked for his infamous Baywatch role three years later in 1989.

Meanwhile The Sun Online was first to reveal the acting legend would be making a musical comeback.

Creating the ideal holiday soundtrack, he teamed up with First Choice to make the ultimate summer anthem – but true to form, he’s more inspired by Las Ketchup than La Bamba.
