Jemma Lucy reveals she’s given up alcohol after ‘addiction’ to partying and bad men led to secret battle with depression and body insecurities
JEMMA Lucy has given up alcohol after her "addiction to partying" led to her secretly battling depression and body insecurities.
The reality star, 28, is known for her wild antics on nights out and turbulent past relationships, but the heavy drinking eventually took a dark toll on the star.
Speaking exclusively to the Sun Online, Jemma has bravely revealed she began enjoying a string of wild nights out after first starring in Ex On The Beach in season three.
“I was going to events all the time with people in the same position of me, and I got into a routine of partying and drinking too much," she revealed.
“Hangovers are no-one’s favourite thing, but I get the worst hangovers. I get depressed, I can’t do anything the next day. I started to notice it affected my moods for longer than a day after, so it would affect me three days later."
Jemma has suffered a string of turbulent relationships in the limelight, having dated everyone from Stephen Bear to her Ex On The Beach co-stars, and even sparking rumours of a romance with BFF Chantelle Connelly.

But she's insisted she's not interested in having a relationship at the moment, as she's made fitness and her successful career her main priority.
Despite her appearing confident on screen, Jemma has now admitted she's always battled insecurities over her figure.
“I am very insecure, the world I’m in, the boys I meet, it’s so much pressure to be perfect," she admitted.
"I’m far from it. I know I’m not 20 stone but I’m far from where I want to be. I want to have a massive bum and a completely flat stomach. It’s fine but in my eyes it’s not fine.
“I want to be completely ripped, I want to be the best at my job, I want to be the best girl a boy can have, I don’t have a boyfriend at the minute, but when I do. I want to be the best I can be and I’m not there yet.”
While she's never turned to surgery, Jemma openly admits she's "addicted to Botox".
Now the heavily-tattooed star has vowed to transform her lifestyle, giving up the booze and focusing on her love of fitness.
“I’m sick of mixing with people who don’t really give a f*** about me", she said.
"The whole lifestyle comes with madness. You mix with the wrong people, you get into the wrong things, drinking too much, so I started training about a year ago for Ex On The Beach."
Jemma now works out daily and has a personal trainer to help her fitness regime.
“I haven’t touched a drink for eight weeks, just a couple of cocktails on the beach which I don’t really count, but no proper nights out."
She added: “I used to think to myself before, why do I feel depressed, why do I feel sad, why do I feel de-motivated, why don’t I want to get out of bed until 2pm, and it’s all because my mind-set was negative. All I’ve done is one thing, go to the gym, and it’s changed everything.”
She added: “I wouldn’t say I was addicted to alcohol, but I was definitely addicted to partying and being sociable.”
During her time on Ex On The Beach, she became part of a heated feud between TOWIE’s Kirk Norcross and ex Cami Li – and slept with Kirk.
She returned for the All-Star series in 2016, where on the first night she slept with Geordie Shore’s Gaz Beadle, before enjoying a threesome with Ashley Cain and Olivia Walsh.
She was eventually removed after getting into a fight with Kayleigh Morris after sleeping with her ex, Ashley Cain.
