SHARON Osbourne has spoken of Mel B's determination to film the X Factor despite allegedly being hospitalised by her estranged husband Stephen Belafonte.
The 64-year-old discussed the Spice Girl's much-publicised divorce battle with Belafonte on US chat show The Talk and reflected on the talent show finale from three years ago.
She said: “In the situation that she’s been in for 10 years, it’s not just physical, it’s mental abuse too.
“Three years ago, in the final two days of X Factor, she didn’t make the first day and she was in the hospital.
"And it was reported in all the papers that said "allegedly" she’s been beaten by her husband.
"And she came back for the final day and she had a black eye and bruising everywhere, but she made the final.
“This has been brewing and people talking for a very, very long time. You know what, she’s a good girl.
"She’s a great mother. She works her bum off.”
Mel filed for divorce from Stephen last month and has won a restraining order following claims of domestic violence.
She is fighting for sole custody of their daughter Madison, five.
Court papers filed by the singer claim Belafonte forced her to engage in threesomes with other women.
It also alleges he got their former nanny pregnant and paid her to get an abortion.
Belafonte strongly denies the claims and says he is shocked by Mel's words.
