SPOILER ALERT Coronation Street’s Adam Barlow is arrested for attempting to kill Ken

Everything Adam Barlow does carries an ulterior motive.
So it’s no surprise that his main reason for finding out who pushed Ken is less about justice for his grandad and more about putting himself in the clear.
Focusing on Peter, Adam decides his story doesn’t add up and vows to question him. But when Luke lets slip that Tracy wasn’t with him at the time of Ken’s fall, Adam turns his attentions on to her, knowing that she was given a false alibi.
Rather than confronting Tracy directly, cunning Adam takes Amy out for lunch instead, but when he starts interrogating her on her mum’s whereabouts that night, the switched-on youngster storms out.
As Adam shares his suspicions about Tracy with Peter and Daniel, Amy takes drastic action to get her mum out of the spotlight.
Calling the police from a phone box, the lass tells them to check the fingerprints on the kitchen worktop that was fitted the night of the attack, convinced that what they find will lead them to Adam.
Sure enough, detectives arrest Adam for attempting to kill Ken, confirming that they have found his prints on the worksurface.
But while Tracy is shocked by the latest development, she’s upset when Luke accuses her of hiding something and dumps her.
This is followed by a confession from Amy that she called the police on Adam.
As Amy’s revelation sinks in, it dawns on Tracy that her daughter might be using Adam as a scapegoat to conceal her own crime…
Sarah hits the roof
With Sarah out, Bethany gets ready to spend the night at Nathan’s.
But when David clocks what she’s doing, he warns his niece that her mum won’t be best pleased when she finds out where she has gone.
The next morning, true to form, Sarah is indeed furious when David tells her where her daughter is – and blames him for letting her go.
Meanwhile, loved-up Bethany is making her fella’s breakfast while Nathan takes her photo on the sly and texts it to his friend Neil. What has the creep got planned for his girlfriend?
Back at No.8, Sarah has got wind that Bethany has been skipping school again and storms round to the tanning salon, where she finds her eldest hanging out with Mel.
Making her anger clear, Sarah embarrasses Bethany as she drags her home, but when Nathan finds out what’s gone down, he hits on an idea to further come between mother and daughter…
Will Shona keep schtum?
When Shona happens to find herself alone at the Platts’ after dropping the dog back home, she can’t resist having a good rummage around. She is almost caught out when Gail and Sarah get back, so quickly hides under the stairs out of sight.
But as the pair discuss David’s guilt over Anna’s injuries, they also mention their fears that the plot to blow up Clayton’s prison van will come out – in earshot of Shona!
Horrified, she steps into view and tells them she has heard everything. Gail assures her that David never meant to hurt Anna and begs her to keep quiet, but will her pleas fall on deaf ears?
Later, Gail is still worried that Shona will blab so collars her on the street and asks for her silence once again.
Shona assures her she hasn’t been to the police, before dropping a bombshell of her own.
