ED Sheeran has once again revealed that his kindness for others is just as impressive as his musical talent.
The 26-year-old singer made yet another fan's dream come true as he treated ten-year-old Melody to a special "second date" in which he serenaded her at a private concert at the 02 Arena.
Speaking exclusively to The Sun Online about the special day, Melody's mother Karina explained: "It was the most amazing day ever, she was spoiled rotten.
"They sat together and played together and she just looks lovingly at him the whole time. They have a mutual love for each other."
She continued: "She can’t speak but we know her favourite songs so he asked her to choose four songs so he was singing the songs that she loves the most. He didn’t just sing on the stage, he did the whole shebang with the lights and effects. She got the chance to feel like she was in a proper concert."
Doctors previously predicted Melody would not live past the age of four, but she has gone on to defy expectations and is described by her mother Karina as a “living miracle.”
Melody suffers from Retts Syndrome, a rare genetic disorder that affects brain development, resulting in severe mental and physical disability.
It is estimated to affect about 1 in 12,000 girls born each year and has meant Melody has spent 80% of her life in hospital.
Karina explained how Ed first met her daughter: "They first met in November. Ed came and visited Melody in hospital the day after he discovered our campaigns to try and get her to meet him.
"He offered for her to come along to his concert but she is too sick to go to a concert as she could pick up an infection. So he suggested a sound check where it’s just him and her.
"I was thrilled by the idea but I almost thought it just wouldn’t happen. He is a superstar and he’s so busy but he always the time for her."
Karina explained how Ed had kept in touch every since meeting Melody last year, sending messages before and after her surgery as well as sending her a new iPad full of his music.
And Ed made sure Melody had physical mementos from her concert experience as she was given the chance to take her pick from his merchandise store.
The singer also drew on her cast and also wrote "love you" and signed his name on her wheelchair.
Karina revealed Ed told her he plans to keep the family in his life and revealed his fans have already nicknamed her daughter, "Ed's princess".
Ed also promised to take Melody on more dates after Karina joked that Melody believed he is her boyfriend and they were actually enjoying dates.
Karina explained: "The best thing is that Ed just sees her for who she is, not a disabled child.
"He is the most amazing man I've ever met."
