At the beginning of Fridays' episode, ex CBBC star Andi, 54, addressed Ranvir Singh's absence.

He told viewers: "Just want to say get well soon to Ranvir who can't be here today.

"That's why they have drafted in a man with a bright orange shirt this morning.

"Get well soon Ranvir, we send you all of our love."

No other details about Ranvir were released but today, the full extent of the Lorraine and Good Morning Britain's reporter's condition came to light.

Andi told Monday's Lorraine how, after presenting last Wednesday's show, Ranvir was struck down by appendicitis.

She was then rushed into hospital for an operation and emergency treatment.

Dr Hilary Jones, 71, who was on the show sofa alongside Andi, said it was "unusual" for an adult to get the illness and said: "We usually see the condition in children, not adults.

"She will make a full recovery and be back here and where you are very shortly."

Appendicitis is an inflammation and infection of the large intestine.

It sparks pain in the lower abdomen and, if left untreated, can lead to serious complications.

Dr Hilary told how it could also lead to sepsis.

Andi then said: "Good luck Ranvir, get well soon."

As the episode wrapped, he told how Christine Lampard would be fronting Tuesday's show.

RANVIR SPEAKS OUT

The broadcaster also clarified her terrifying ordeal on social media.

She took to her Instagram grid to post a series of snaps from the hospital ward and wrote alongside them: "Had a fab time as always hosting @lorraine last Wednesday wearing this gorgeous linen white pinstripe suit, felt a bit drained and foggy in the morning but nothing a couple of coffees couldn’t sort out.

"I’m off air - all good - at 10.30am I feel this sudden stomach ache. I stay in bed all day.

"Turns out I had a ruptured appendix and had urgent surgery at midnight on Thursday!

"Woke up 5am on Friday morning, high on anaesthetic and certain I could get into work to host the show as normal ... Pretty nasty few days, the bacteria had spread and infected my blood etc and told to take this week off by @jadeens.

"I’m sore and shuffling around, can’t drive for a week, and no exercise for four weeks (!) so really it’s the boredom that will kill me! Ps. Anyone else have this horrendous shoulder pain afterwards? It’s mad isn’t it!"

ANDI'S TV GIG

Fans are used to seeing her replacement Andi doing the competitions on both GMB and Lorraine.

And he is no stranger to hosting live TV - in fact, that's where he started.

When he was just 19, Andi found fame on the iconic BBC kids show, The Broom Cupboard.

Could you handle the truth about love?

It’s the smash-hit Channel 4 reality show where honesty isn’t just encouraged – it’s the only rule.

But with the final week approaching, are the Truetopians (aka the contestants) starting to buckle under the pressure?

Last week The Honesty Box hit boiling point when one contestant made a jaw-dropping confession, admitting their “romance” was nothing but a “showmance”.

And if that wasn’t enough, new arrivals were thrown straight into the chaos, tasked with deciding who to couple up with – and who to banish from Truetopia for good.

As cracks start to show in day-one couples, and wandering eyes stir up even more tension, the big question looms: is honesty really worth it when it breaks hearts and fuels chaos, even if it adds to the cash pot

Guided by hosts Vicky Pattison and Lucinda Light, the Truetopians are being pushed to their limits. Will they finally come clean with themselves and the rest of the villa?

Especially when one contestant finds himself trapped in a messy love triangle, tangled in his own web of lies. With the final episodes just around the corner, the stakes couldn’t be higher.

Who will stay true to their hearts – and the experiment? Who will be axed from the villa? And who will cause so much drama that they can’t even tell the truth from their own lies?

To find out, stream The Honesty Box on Channel 4 now.
